Comment: With a lot of help and inspiration from my girlfriend, Yesel, I helped create this poster for the business school student body elections

Marty Says:
Ah, the scary, large, unstoppable, sometimes-sickening thing that is politics! This is a poster advertising for a student association for Pacific's school of business. Charged with creating some visually striking, black and white images for posters, I created two posters. The first was a mock-up of a Time Magazine cover, to try to invoke in the students the celebrity and fame that comes with running for student office. The second (and in my opinion, the better) poster, hoped to entertain it's readers while also informing them of the upcoming election.
The people decpicted in the poster as 'not running' in this election are Arnold Schwarzenegger (the Austrian actor of Terminator fame), Gray Davis (former governer of California, kicked out of office for this election), and Gary Coleman (from Diff'rent strokes). What do all these people have in common? they all happened to be running for Governer of California after then Governer, Gray Davis, was ousted from office for allegedly sending the state's budget spiraliing down the toilet. So the poster, which assumes the viewer knows all this (who didn't, at the time?), tries to be funny by comforting the viewer. It's okay to run for ESBSA because these guys aren't. It won't be a media circus event. I guess the joke is a little stale now, but it was funny at the time, trust me!
