In September of 2011, I participated in a local event in Sacramento known as Chalk It Up. Chalk It Up is an annual event where local artists come out and cover all the squares of sidewalk surrounding Fremont Park with art. Each square is sponsored by an individual, group, or business, but even so, most artists seem to have free reign over the subject matter of their squares.
