For the entire year of 2011, I did one drawing a day for a project I called the Year of Art 2011. I wanted to create a new, dynamic collection of illustrations that documented the little ideas I was thinking about from day to day and which also showed the personal growth that can happen as one repeats a simple task over and over.
It’d also been a while since I’d embarked on a task of this size, and I wanted to try something large scale without overwhelming myself. Contrary to that, I found that as I worked on each drawing, I often had more ideas than I could ever hope to get down into a single drawing each day.
Below is every single drawing I did for the project, in order, from January 1 to December 31.
