Illustration Sketchbook

A cartoon illustration of a horse yelling into a microphone. The horse's face is pushed forward and angled downward. His mouth is high and open wide, with tongue in air and spit coming out. He is frowning with one eye and has an intense look on his face. There is a word bubble coming from the horse with a skull, star, x, spiral, and pound sign in it. The horse is a light brown with a triangular white spot going down his nose and a dark mane. His eyes are red. The microphone is gray and shiny. The background is red with a puff of pink and white spray paint behind the horse.

Today's Februdoodle illustration is an angry horse yelling into a microphone for his podcast.

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, and the Fat Nozzle and Burst spray paint brushes for background texture.

A cartoon illustration of a dog eating a bone. The dog is stylized with a pointy head, long neck, and slouching body. His eyes are closed as he enjoys the bone, and his mouth is in a large open smile, with a wad of chewed up bone on his tongue. He is wearing a collar the is way too wide for his neck but still stays in place. He is holding a large bone out that has one end chewed off. He has small, perky ears on the top of his head and a thin wiry tail sticking up from below frame. The dog is gold, his ears, tail, and nose are indigo, the collar is red, and the bone is white. The background is a bright cyan with a speckled white glow behind the dog.

Today's Februdoodle illustration is a quick cartoon of a dog eating a bone!

Yes, yes, more "food" drawings. I just thought this was a funny idea. 😎

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Chisel Nib Cleaner brush for linework, the Sassafras brush for shading, the Worn 4 Bold brush for background texture, and the Syrup brush for fills and other utility.

The Chisel Nib brush is from the Rusty Nib pack, and the Worn brush is from the Fast Grit pack. Those are by True Grit Texture Supply.

A cartoon illustration of a small child with a large head struggling to hold up a massive backpack. The child looks like a boy and has a large elliptical head, a tuft of red hair, and eyes bugging out. He looks upset and slightly sad. His arms are holding the straps of the backpack and he is hunched over. He has a pale complexion and green eyes and is wearing a bright blue shirt and lavender pants that hang over his shoes. His shoes are a light purple gray. The backpack is a bright red orange with dark red straps and gold zippers. It has a pocket with a blue water bottle in it on the side. It is nearly double the size of the boy. The background is a bright yellow gold color, with a white triangle shape behind the boy. The entire image has a faded grit effect over it, like it was printed on a t-shirt.

Today's Februdoodle is a drawing of a kid holding a backpack that's way too big for him. There's always at least one kid like that.

This was a long day, and I needed to do this drawing quickly but still wanted to make it something fun, so I experimented a bit with a slightly looser style than my usual. I like drawing like this, but it's really hard for me to stick with it from start to finish. Usually, by the time I'm done with the sketch, my brain has faded back into my normal drawing conventions, and I start getting hung up on all sorts of technical details that don't really matter. But I like how it turned out anyway! 😅

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, the Soft air brush for shading the lines, and the Worn 1 Bold brush for texture.

That last brush is from the Fast Grit pack, by True Girt Texture Supply.

Februdoodle 2026 #8: Bitten

A cartoon illustration of a cookie with arms, legs, giant eyes, and a sad face because a giant bite has been taken out of the top of it. The eyes are large and round and are positioned low and wide on the cookie. They are looking up at the upper right side of the cookie, where the bite is. The cookie's legs are straight with small feet, and one arm is hanging straight down next to them. The other hand is reaching up to feel the empty space of the bite. The cookie is a tan color with brown chocolate chips and some cracking in the middle. It is standing in front of a lime green background, with a lighter green ellipse behind it, which is cut off and flat on the bottom.

Today's Februdoodle illustration is of a cookie with a single bite taken out of it. And it's kinda sad about it, TBH.

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Rusty Nib 1 brush for linework, the Syrup brush for fills, and the Sassafras brush for some light shading.

The Rusty Nib brush is from the Rusty Nib pack, by True Grit Texture Supply.

A cartoon illustration of a pear-shaped lizard sitting down, holding a mushroom with a large bite taken out of it. The lizard is a light green that fades to a blue green from top to bottom. He is sitting with his legs out and his tail is standing up behind him, with a bend near the top. The lizard has a small smile on his mouth, his blue tongue is hanging out of his mouth, and his eyes are bugging out in opposite directions. He has a vacant look on his face. The mushroom is white with an orange cap and purple spots. There are multi-colored circles hanging in the air over the lizard's head. The background is a light yellow orange color with darker orange pain splatters behind the lizard.

Today's Februdoodle illustration is of a lizard having a bite of mushroom and going on a trip.

A cartoon illustration of a fish frozen in a large block of ice. The block is shiny and has sparkles running across the top and left sides. It has light reflective rays glancing diagonally from the top right to bottom left and melting chunks of frost on top. It is sitting in a small puddle of water. The fish is large and blue, with mouth open and X's for eyes. The ice block is light blue fading lighter towards the top. The background is a sky blue with a white glow behind the ice block.

Today's Februdoodle illustration is of a fish frozen in a block of ice!

A cartoon illustration of an orange with a sad face on it and a thermometer in its mouth. The orange looks depressed, with only one eye full open. The thermometer juts out at an angle from the orange. The back of the orange has a green, hairy mold on it. It is sitting on a steel blue background.

I wanted to try out some different brushes for today's Februdoodle and thought an orange would be the perfect subject for some stippling. But sometimes oranges get sick with hairy mold! 🤒

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Chisel Nib Cleaner brush for linework, the Syrup brush for fills, and the Sharpee Spray Regular brush for stippling/shading.

The Chisel Nib brush is from the Rusty Nib pack, and the Sharpee Spray brush is from the Stipple Studio pack, both by True Grit Texture Supply.
