June Toons 2024

June Toons is an illustration project where I drew a new cartoon every day for the month of June. There were no theme requirements, and the style only had to be loosely cartoon-based.

This is the 2024 edition, and I added a new drawing to this page every day for the month until it was complete.

A cartoon illustration of a boy riding a tricycle toward the viewer. The boy has his tongue sticking out and beads of sweat flying off, and looks like he' struggling. The hot summer sun is hanging over him in the sky, and the words "June Toons!" float in the sky above and behind him. The boy has orange-reddish skin from the sun's shade and sandy blond hair. He is wearing a green t-shirt with a gold star on it, blue shorts, and a lime-green bike helmet and shoes. The tricycle is blue with chrome accents. The words "June Toons!" are a shiny pink with a dark outline.
A cartoon illustration of "Twinkie The Kid", a mascot used for Twinkie snack cakes. This version of Twinkie The Kid has him hunched over slightly and squinting at an unseen adversary. He has on his signature white cowboy hat and gloves, and a blue handkerchief with red heard pattern tied around his neck. He is holding a six shooter in his hand, pointed upward. Smoke is coming out of the barrel, as if the gun has just been fired.
A cartoon illustration of a beaver sitting above a chewed-up log. The beaver has his head cocked back and is staring side-eyed at the viewer. He is brown and has his front paws over the top of the log. His tail is sticking up over the left side. The log is chunky and gray, with thick bark. The portion of the log that is chewed has a hole in the bark and the yellow interior of the tree visible, gnawed down into a small divot.
A cartoon illustration of a boy scribbling all over his drawing paper with a red crayon. The crayon and the hand gripping it are in the foreground, and you can see various scribbles on the paper below. The crayon has a small mouth on it that appears to be screaming. The boy is leaning into his work in the background, and has his tongue sticking out and up, as if he's concentrating. The boy has a light complexion, brown hair, and a stubby nose, and he is wearing a gray-blue shirt.
A cartoon illustration of the cereal mascot Cap'n Crunch hunched over a bowl of Crunch Berries cereal, with a spoon in his mouth. He looks concerned and lost. He has a light complexion, a large, curled mustache, and is wearing a blue admiral's outfit, which is in bad shape. It has a patch on the elbow, and his hat has a hole in it. The "C" on his hat is also falling off. There are bits of cereal laying on the table around him.
A cartoon illustration of a dog looking at the viewer with a confused look on his face, as if he's thinking, "What did you just say?" The dog is a bright orange with a round head, a very large collar, and a crooked tail. His nose and the collar are a dark blue. He is holding a juice box in one hand, but it is tilted away from him, as if he was interrupted while drinking it. The juice box is a light blue. The background is green with a green-yellow circle behind the dog.
A cartoon illustration of an anthropomorphized beer bottle sitting on top of an anthropomorphized coffee mug. The beer bottle has a drunk look on his face and a bubble popping effect happening in the air in front of him. He is a glossy green with a pale-yellow paper label. He is looking at the viewer and waving. The coffee mug is looking up at the beer bottle with a slightly pained and annoyed look. He is a glossy light blue. He is filled with coffee and some of it is splashing out to the side. The background transitions sharply at an angle between a lavender and gold color, from top to bottom, to represent night and day.
A cartoon illustration of an oddly proportioned duck in a blue sailor's shirt, red bow tie, and sailor's hat. The duck is white with gold beak, legs, and feet, and he has a large round head. He has a blank look on his face. The background is gray with a lighter wedge shape going behind the duck.
A cartoon illustration of a man with a deformed face. He was created from a reference photo of a red squirrel, and his features reflect that in various ways: his eyes are far apart and bulging, his nose is very far forward, he has a tall forehead, an extreme overbite with teeth jutting out, and he is hunched over. The man has a scruffy mustache and goatee, and scraggily hair sticking out from a floppy, pointed brown beanie. He has a light complexion, orange hair, and a red shirt. The man is drawn in various shades or orange, red, and brown, and the background is a light green with a noisy yellow burst from behind the man.
A cartoon illustration of a cat leaning out of a window to smell a flower. The cat is orange and shaded in a very simple way, with only a single shaft of shadow passing over its bottom quarter. Similarly, the entire scene has a parallel diagonal purple shadow across the bottom third, a pastel blue, and then a diagonal white at the top. The flower has large white petals and a gold center, with a long green vine leading it out away from the window.
A cartoon illustration of a piece of paper that is folded with part of it facing the viewer, and an eraser erasing scribbles from its bottom half. The paper and eraser both have cartoon faces. The paper looks like it is enjoying the erasing a little too much, with its eyes rolled up slightly and its tongue hanging out. The eraser is staring a the paper with bugged out eyes and a concerned look. The paper is a very pale yellow and the eraser is pink. The image is set on a light blue background with a swish of lighter blue painted over the top.
A cartoon illustration of a baby bird who has just hatched from his egg. The baby bird has a large oddly shaped head with bulging eyes, a thin neck leading down to a bulbous body, and silly-looking wings. He has no feathers, except for two tiny ones off the tip of his head. His eyes are shiny and blue, and pointing in opposite directions. He is a salmon pink color, with a gold beak. The broken egg is a light blue, and the background is a pale green with a slightly darker wedge shape behind the bird and egg.
A cartoon illustration of a man in a chef's coat and hat leaning forward and smelling a sheet of cookies he's just baked. The man has a light complexion and brown hair and is drawn in a very stylistic way. His eyes are closed, he has a long nose that sticks out over the tray, and a slight smile on his face. His coat and hat are white, and he has green oven mitts on. The tray he is holding has five chocolate chip cookies on it, and they are emitting a trail of aroma that is wafting up to the man's nose.
A cartoon illustration of a large elephant sitting in a tiny boat. The boat is capsizing from the weight of the elephant, and the edge of the rim is barely above the water. The water is an aqua color with wavy lines flowing over it. The sky is a pale-blue with large white clouds overhead and a pale-yellow sun.
A cartoon illustration of a cowboy desperately running from something. The cowboy is lanky and proportioned in a very wiry way, with a bean-shaped head and body, and very thin arms and legs. His long nose is blowing back in the wind, and his pants, which are way too wide, are held up by suspenders. His hat is flying off behind him. He is colored in an unrealistic way, with turquoise skin and blue hair. His clothes are shades of green and brown. In the background is a desert, with distant mesas, and a large setting sun.
A cartoon illustration of a coffee cup with a smaller coffee cup in front of it, meant as a Father's Day image. The large coffee cup in the back is a paper cup with a black plastic lid and a cardboard heat protection sleeve around the middle. A circular green logo with a woman's face on it is partially visible from behind the sleeve, and a dribble of coffee is coming down the top of the lid. The smaller cup in front is a clear plastic container with a rounded lid and a red-and-white striped straw coming out the top. The coffee drink inside is visible, as well as a dollop of whipped cream on top. The cups are drawn at slightly odd angles and are standing on an orange background that gets slightly darker towards the bottom. Three stars are floating in the air in the space between the cups.
A cartoon illustration of an anthropomorphic banana with bulging round eyes and lanky limbs standing against a wall and smoking a blunt. His arms and legs are crossed, and his eyes are half closed. He is looking at the viewer. His peel is starting to show signs of aging, and he is blowing out a small cloud of green smoke from the corner of his mouth. He is standing against a somewhat abstract background that is just an outline of a wall and another wall running past it, with shades of blue running diagonally across.
A cartoon illustration of a girl standing inside of a hole, looking up at the other half of her body standing in a hole up and to the left of her. The holes exist inside of an "L" shaped cut-out rotated 180 degrees, with the lower hole on the bottom right and the upper hole on the top left. The outside area is an orange-red, and the cutout is pink and orange. The girl has pale purple skin, blue hair, blue lips, and green shirt, pants, and shoes. She has a bob haircut and a long nose. Her skin is yellow, and her hair and lips are a glossy pink. She is wearing a striped shirt that is bright blue and a pink skirt, with her midriff visible. She has a lanky frame, and her arms are holding the straps of the backpack out tightly away from her body. The backpack is a dark gray, and is covered in colorful buttons in yellow, pink, and bright blue, with emoticons, a peace sign, and other shapes. The background is a cool gray with a light lavender streak across it, and flicks of white spray paint.

He has a squat, wide body, and a scruff of shaggy hair covers his eyes. His right arm is at his side, his left arm is extended straight out to hold the drink cup, and his tail is waving loosely behind him. The top of the water has ocean-like waves. The submarine is stubby and thick and has yellow fins and a red and yellow propeller. The periscope is up and sticking out of the water's surface. A cartoon illustration of a fantasy house drawn in the style of Dr. Seuss. The house is yellow with a salmon-colored door and sloping blue roof. The roof has a very unrealistic curve to it, sloping up at the apex and down and then up again at the edges. There is a small gable window on the left side, and a chimney angling out of the roof at an impossible angle on the right. The door has an oversized knob and there are windows of various sizes all over the house. The house is flanked by deformed, curvy trees on both sizes, and rests on turquoise grass. There is a small word bubble coming off from the pig to the upper left, with the word "oink!" inside.
