June Toons 2024 #15: Run Cowboy, Run!

His long nose is blowing back in the wind, and his pants, which are way too wide, are held up by suspenders. His hat is flying off behind him. He is colored in an unrealistic way, with turquoise skin and blue hair. His clothes are shades of green and brown. In the background is a desert, with distant mesas, and a large setting sun.

Today's June Toons cartoon is of a cowboy running. From what? I don't know, but he's desperate to get away from it!

June Toons 2024 #14: Elephant In A Boat

A cartoon illustration of a large elephant sitting in a tiny boat. The boat is capsizing from the weight of the elephant, and the edge of the rim is barely above the water. The elephant is gray and has a detached, sullen look on his face. The water extends all the way to the horizon, and roofs and trees are sticking up from the water. The water is an aqua color with wavy lines flowing over it. The sky is a pale-blue with large white clouds overhead and a pale-yellow sun.

Today's June Toons cartoon is an elephant sitting in a boat... but not for much longer! 😮

This last week was a blur of work, but it's still kind of hard to believe that I've been working on this project for two weeks already. Time is flyin'!

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, the Soft air brush for gradients, and the Fat Nozzle spray paint brush for texture.

June Toons 2024 #11: Don’t Stop (Erasing)

The paper looks like it is enjoying the erasing a little too much, with its eyes rolled up slightly and its tongue hanging out. This was a long day, so suitably, I had to make a pretty quick cartoon for June Toons. I like how it turned out though! 😆

June Toons 2024 #10: Fresh Air

For today's June Toons cartoon, I drew a cat leaning out the window to smell a flower. This is a small celebration I'm having for the end of my spring allergies (RIP cooler weather, though 😔).

June Toons 2024 #9: Squirrel Man

The man has a scruffy mustache and goatee, and scraggily hair sticking out from a floppy, pointed brown beanie. He has a light complexion, orange hair, and a red shirt. The man is drawn in various shades or orange, red, and brown, and the background is a light green with a noisy yellow burst from behind the man.

Today's June Toons cartoon is my attempt at drawing a human from a picture of an animal - in this case, a red squirrel. The result is sort of grotesque, but I had fun making it. 🙃

June Toons 2024 #8: A Familiar Duck

Today's June Toons cartoon is another pretty basic one, but maybe that's just going to be the theme for this project. It's been tough finding time this month!

June Toons 2024 #7: Day & Night

Since this June Toons cartoon is coming in on a Friday, I'm closing out the first week with an ode to the drinks of day and of night. ☕🍺

This has been a weird week for me personally, so I've had a hard time getting these drawings done at a reasonable hour each day. So far, I've been enjoying the infusion of creativity though. On to the next week!
