Inktober 2024 #13: Horizon

An illustration of a city being attacked by a massive robot. The city and robot are drawn in silhouette, in black. There is a giant yellow sun setting behind the city, and the sky is a salmon red. There are a few white clouds scattered around near the sun. The robot is approaching from the right, its mouth and eye glowing white. The eye is shooting a thin white beam down into the city. Streaks of darker red swoop up behind the robot, and a smokey, gray blue effect covers the bottom half of the silhouettes. The scene is masked by a rough-edged circle, and the canvas is a blank white outside of that.

The prompt for today's Inktober illustration was "horizon".

Initially, I wanted to do just a simple sunset, but right when I sat down to draw, I had this idea pop in my mind, so I went ahead with it. It's still quite simple, but at least there's more of a story to it now. 😊

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, and the Syrup and Inka brushes for everything else.

If you'd like to see how I drew this one, you can watch the time-lapse below:
