Inktober 2026 #7: Panic

Martin · 18 hours (9:50 PM · Oct 7, 2026)
A black and white illustration of a chicken squawking after being bonked on the head by a fallen acorn. The chicken's mouth is wide open in panic, and its single visible eye is bugging out. It is white with a gray comb. Its wings are spread out, and its tail can be seen at the bottom of the image. An acorn has lines tracing its path from above the chicken, to hitting the chicken, to flying off to the right side. White lines and two stars are emanating from the top of the chicken's head, where the acorn hit it. A thick vertical stripe of gray background goes from behind the chicken to the top of the image, with jagged edged white strips on either side.

For today's Inktober prompt, "panic", I drew a picture of a chicken freaking out over a fallen acorn, like Chicken Little, Chicken Licken, or Henny Penny, depending on where you're from. The sky is falling!

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Inka brush for linework, the Old Brush paint brush for texture, and the Soft air brush for some light shading.
