My twelfth illustration for Februdoodle is a Frisbee lying in the grass.

The weather here was beautiful today, and we got outside in the afternoon and threw the Frisbee around a bit. It was a little windy, so sometimes it was unpredictable, but it was still a lot of fun - and made me long for the spring.

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching and a slightly modified Mercury brush for line work and colors.

My eleventh illustration for Februdoodle is Watcher, a man I saw at a local event on TV.

I was watching the local news this morning and there was some kind of Valentine's Day run/walk marathon going on nearby. I saw this guy in the background, running around, and I'm assuming, trying to help keep things orderly.

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I used the Procreate Pencil brush for the sketch, the Syrup brush for the line work, and the Hartz and Decimals brushes for the background.

For my ninth Februdoodle illustration, I drew a hairy hand holding a toothbrush. Gotta keep those teeth clean!

Like a lot of people who grew up around the same time as me, I used to watch Ren & Stimpy as a kid. There was a thing that the show did frequently, where the action would stop and you'd see a still, very detailed painting of something gross close up for a moment, usually accompanied by a shriek, a wolf howling, or something similar.

When I was young, I hated it, but as an adult, I think it's hilarious, and so I channeled that a little for my drawing today.

As usual, this was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, and the Tarraleah brush for background texture.

Februdoodle 2023 #8: Hotdog

Martin · 1 year

For reasons unknown, my eighth illustration for Februdoodle is a hotdog!

I've been wanting to do some more simple drawings, and this one started that way... but I ended up adding too much detail in the end. Oh well, maybe next time!

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, a slightly modified version of the Mercury brush for linework, and the Hartz brush for texture.

Well, that's a whole week of Februdoodle done already - the time sure does fly! This is my seventh illustration for the project, called Hamster Ball. This goofy hamster can't get balanced!

As usual, this was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, and the Tarraleah brush, Decimals brush, and the Soft Airbrush for background texture.

My sixth illustration for Februdoodle is called Constellation, with the moon working out some new constellations in the stars.

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, and the Hartz brush, Watercolor brush, and Soft airbrush for background texture.

My fifth illustration for Februdoodle is Hatosaurus, with three dinosaurs sporting some cool headwear.

Yesterday I asked my son what I should draw, and he wanted me to draw a dinosaur. I felt bad that I didn't oblige, so I made up for it today. I kinda wanted to work a comet into the background somehow (you can see this in the time-lapse), but I didn't want to change the composition around too much at the end.

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, and the Hartz and Grid brushes for background texture.

Here's my fourth illustration for Februdoodle, Fishin'. I was at a street fair earlier today looking at some prints, and I got inspired to do something a little simpler today. I was tempted to add a little grunge to the edges, but in the end decided against it, and I sorta like it being less noisy.

As usual, this was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching and a slightly modified version of the Mercury brush for linework.

My third illustration for Februdoodle is Looking Closer, where a woman is peering intently into a dusty old book. Searching for clues? I guess!

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, and the Decimals brush for texture.
