Februdoodle 2026 #19: Whack-A-Mouse

A cartoon illustration of a boy playing a game of Whack-A-Mouse. The boy is standing in front of a board full of holes. He has his head tilted to the side and is smiling slightly and frowning, looking slightly evil. He has a light complexion and is wearing a green hat turned to the side and a green t-shirt with a mushroom on the front. He is holding a large soft mallet in his left hand, ready to strike. The board is drawn in perspective, with the viewer resting close to the end of it. It has 9 holes in it, and all of them that are visible have mice sticking out of them with X's for eyes and tongues sticking out or just slumped over onto the board - except one. The middle hole is empty, save for a pair of scared white eyes looking up from the darkness at the boy. The board and background are a dark blue, and the whacked mice are a slightly lighter blue.

Today's Feebrudoodle was another one of those that I've wanted to draw for a long time but never really figured out how it could work. Today I was struck with inspiration, and after a quick sketch, my idea was finally brought to life!

Originally, I intended to shade it a little more, but I liked the raw, simplistic look the Inka brush gave the lines, and felt like flat shading and a limited color palette would work better. I'm happy with how it turned out!

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Inka brush for linework, and the Syrup brush for fills.

If you'd like to see how I drew this one, you can watch the time-lapse below:
