Februdoodle 2026 #24: Dry Mouse

Martin · 8 days (10:47 PM · Feb 24, 2026)
An illustration of a cartoon mouse lounging in the brim of a newspaper folder into a hat, floating in a puddle in the middle of a rainstorm. A tiny umbrella is pitched over the mouse, keeping him dry. The newspaper is gray with blocks of photos and text covering it. The mouse is brown with a pink nose, ears, and tail curled around the outer edge of the brim. The puddle of water and surrounding pools are a lighter blue, reflecting the hat, mouse, and umbrella. The background is indigo with a lighter color in the upper left and darker color in the lower right. White and blue drops of rain pass over the entire image, splashing on the top of the umbrella, hat, and into the puddles.

It's raining here again, so today's Februdoodle drawing is of a mouse enjoying himself despite the wet weather. Or maybe he's a rat, since he has a long tail. My knowledge of rodent anatomy starts and ends almost entirely with cartoons. 😆

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Inka brush for linework, the Old Brush paint brush and Rough Dot Shader 45 Light brush for shading and background texture, and the Syrup brush and Soft air brush for utility.

The Rough Dot Shader is from the Beat Tones pack, by True Grit Texture Supply.
