Today's Drawrch illustration is of a woman wearing headphones! π§πΆ
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Inka brush for linework, the Soft air brush for some light shading, and the Fat Nozzle spray paint brush for background texture.
The photo I used as a reference for this drawing is from SketchDaily.

Here's today's Drawrch illustration. I was able to force myself to stay a little more stylized with this one, and managed to work some brush strokes in there too! That's the first week of Drawrch done already!
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, the Soft air brush for gradients, and the Old Brush paint brush for added texture/light details.

For today's Drawrch illustration, I set out to draw something a little more cartoony than normal, and ended up drifting hard toward the stuff I've been doing for most of the rest of the drawings in this project so far. π΅
I guess I needed to focus more on sketching it cartoony? I don't know. It's been a long day, so I just wanted to get through it. I wish I could have spent more time on the hair though - the curls in the reference photo were crazy!
Anyway, this was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Inka brush for almost everything else, and the Hartz brush for background texture.

Today's Drawrch illustration came in late again - I got started late and it took 2 hours to finish - but I'm happy with how it turned out!
Normally I don't go for much airbrushing, but I think it really helped bring out some dimension with this one. It's cool how just a tiny touch of light or dark here and there really helped make it pop. The hair is a little funky, but whatever. It's done and tomorrow's drawing needs to be simpler!
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, and the Soft and Hard airbrushes for gradients and background details. I used the smudge tool with the Soft airbrush as well, to smooth out the highlights in the hair.

Here's my second illustration for Drawrch - nearly late, yikes! I got started quite late though, so I'm just glad I got something out today, I suppose. π

I wanted to kick this year's Drawrch off with something a little simple, so here's my retro cartoon-inspired Drawrch title card, with a little modern flair.
Drawrch is a month-long project where I create a new illustration of a face every day for the month of March. There are no style restrictions. I'll be posting each finished piece here and on social media. Check it out and follow along!

Today's Inktober illustration is for the prompt "Angel". I feel like I could've employed a whole bunch of stuff from all the art history classes I took with this one - but instead I drew this! π
As always, this was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup and Inka brushes for linework and blocking out shapes, and the Medium Nozzle spray paint brush for shading/texture.
The comic style for this one was heavily inspired by the art of BuΔra Batuhan Berah.

This is my thirty-first (and final) illustration for Drawrch 2023 - aw, yeah!
Like last year's Drawrch, I figured I'd finish things up with another self-portrait. I don't consider that last one a failure, but I didn't care for how it turned out either, so I also sort of wanted to redeem myself a bit this year. And I think I did! I'm happy with it anyway.
Perhaps I'll post more about it in the future, but I feel like I settled into a style that I didn't start with this time, and I like how it went. I do this project to explore styles and practice, so I didn't want to do all of them the same way, but I did enjoy some methods more than others, so it was hard not to lean into them a bit more.
Anyway, this was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching and the Inka brush for everything else.
