Inktober 2025 #11: Sting

An illustration of a bee stinging some flesh. The drawing is styled so that everything is very symmetrical and geometric. The bee is straight on from the viewer, with its stinger going into a white plane meant to be flesh. There is a large X at the point of the sting, and a single drop of blood is below it. The bee's legs are drawn disproportionately small to its body, and its wings are spread. The drawing is in black and white.

Originally, I was thinking about drawing the wrestler, Sting, for this Inktober illustration. But the closer I got to drawing time, the less I wanted to draw a human face. Which is okay, because I like how this turned out instead!

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Smooth Natural Nib brush for linework, and the Pin Liner 0.1 Pressure Spray brush for shading.

The Smooth Natural Nib is from the Rusty Nib pack and the Pin Liner brush is from the Stipple Studio pack, by True Grit Texture Supply.
