Inktober 2025 #13: Drink

An illustration of a water fountain spigot shooting an arc of water into an attached, circular basin. The spigot and rim of the basin have a metallic look, and the water is just barely splashing into the far end of the basin. The basin has a large drain off center, with a number of holes in it. The arc of water and spigot are casting hard shadows onto the background, which is a large white space with gray cutting in at the top and bottom left corner at different angles. The elements are outlined and presented in perspective, with the spigot being close to the viewer and very large, but the perspective is loose and slightly nonsensical, with the drain in the basin at a slight angle and a bit too large. The drawing is in black and white.

For today's Inktober prompt, "drink", I drew a drinking fountain shooting an arc of water into a basin.

This prompt was so open to interpretation, I had a hard time settling on what I wanted to do. I liked the idea of doing something like this though, a very familiar object to so many people, and it was good graphic shading practice. I tried to keep the lines and shading loose.

This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching and the Syrup brush for everything else.

If you'd like to see how I drew this one, you can watch the time-lapse below:
