I got this done a little later than usual today, but here's today's Februdoodle illustration!
This is based on a story that is only partially true, because I definitely rode on a small carnival-style rollercoaster with my son today and not a single person fell out!
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, and the Syrup brush for everything else.
If you'd like to see how I drew this one, you can watch the time-lapse below:
The Number Munchers were my obsession back in elementary school. Now they are the subject of my seventh Februdoodle illustration!
That's the first week of Februdoodle done, and it sure went by quickly! I am already starting to feel my creativity strain a bit, but I think I will hit my stride soon enough.
Anyway, this was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Rusty Nib 1 brush for linework, the Rough Dot Shader 45/Light brush for some extra shading, and the Medium Nozzle spray paint brush for a final bit of background texture.
The Rusty Nib 1 and Rough Dot Shader 45/Light brushes are from the Rusty Nib pack and the Beat Tones pack, respectively, by True Grit Texture Supply.

Today's Februdoodle illustration is a mad scientist holding his experiment - a pink liquid in a flask - over his head and staring at it menacingly.
I don't know what inspired this one, but I had the idea pop into my head as I sat down to draw, and it turned out just about how I initially envisioned it. The sky blue skin was an idea I had in-progress, and I think I might've been channeling Maniac Mansion a bit there.
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Rusty Nib 1 brush for just about everything else, and a small assist from the Rough Dot Shader 45/Light brush for a little bit of shading.
I think I'll be sticking with this low-color style for the time being. It's challenging me in a good way, and helping keep things in a good scope for now. I'm sure I'll move onto other styles as the project progresses!
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Rusty Nib 1 brush for linework, and the Rough Dot Shader 45/Light brush for shading.
This is my fourth illustration for Februdoodle - a curious dog peaking in from the left. I wanted to get done with this one quickly tonight, so it's a bit simple... but that' show it goes sometimes.
Hopefully I'll have more time tomorrow to work on one!

Not really sure what inspired this one, but I was feeling Grim Fandango vibes while I was sketching it.
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Rusty Nib 1 brush for linework, and the Rough Dot Shader 45/Light brush for shading.
Here's my second illustration for Februdoodle: The Wild Box!
My son has a small puzzle box with various locks on each side. He likes to keep a small teddy bear in there, along with a collection of little origami I made for him.
For reasons we are still trying to figure out, one day he started calling it "the wild box", and I think it's funny and cute.
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Rusty Nib 1 brush for linework, the Rough Dot Shader 45/Light brush for shading, and the Fat Nozzle spray paint brush for some extra pizzazz.
Well, I almost forgot, but today is the start of yet another Februdoodle - a project where I draw a new thing every day for the month of February.
This is my first drawing, which is just sort of the mood I'm in right now. I wanted to draw something a little crazier, but my son really likes seeing my drawings and he's just a little guy, so... I have to keep it a little PG. Most of the time, anyway.
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Syrup brush for linework, the Soft air brush for shading, and the Fat Nozzle spray paint brush for background texture.
The halftone pattern shading was created using the Rough Dot Shader 45/Light and the Grainy Dot Shader 60/Light. Those brushes are from the Beat Tones pack, by True Grit Texture Supply.
Each day, I'll be posting a new image here on the blog, and adding it to the Februdoodle page.
Oh, and if you wanted to see how this one got made, check it out below:
Thanks for joining me on another illustration journey!
For my last Februdoodle illustration, I decided to make a representation of the extra day, via cookies!
I streamed this one on Twitch - thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi and watch a bit. Whether you tuned in today or not though, I appreciate all the support throughout the month. It means a lot!
This project was a fun one and I'm happy to come away from it with another set of fun illustrations. I'll be taking a short break today and then... back tomorrow for Drawrch!
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Inka brush for linework, and that's about it. You will see a lot of experimentation at the end with the background, but none of that made it into the final.
If you want to watch all of my 2024 Februdoodle illustrations get done, there's a YouTube playlist for that, here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx-veH80sJzh6ycF5MUvK7oEsSMiH4rvk

Today's Februdoodle is a wood pile! Based on a reference photo I took earlier today.
It being the 28th and all, normally this would've been the last in the series, but with this being a leap year, Februdoodle gets a bonus drawing tomorrow. Woohoo!
This was created in Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, using the Procreate Pencil brush for sketching, the Inka brush for just about everything else, and a small assist from the Soft air brush for background gradient.
